Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accuracy of financial and management accounting statements of the overall company.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, overseeing of audits, and implementing policies to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Corporate Officer to manage budgets and analyse financial performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, profitability, and capital expenditures of the company.
  • Compile, analyse and distribute financial reports to the trade team and management ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Uphold financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure accurate financial statements.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of progressive financial experience, with a significant portion in the agricultural trading or commodity trading sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Strong understanding of commodity trading finance, including MTM accounting, hedging, and risk management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and a track record of either implementing or significantly improving financial systems.
